A CNAME (or Canonical Name) allows you to point one domain or subdomain to another domain name. This means that you can update one A Record whenever you make a change, regardless of how many Host Records need to resolve to that IP address.

To add CNAME to your hosting provider, GoDaddy, please follow these steps:

1. Log in to your GoDaddy Domain Portfolio.

2. Select an individual domain to access the Domain Settings page.

3. Select DNS to view your DNS records.

4. Select Add New Record and then select CNAME from the Type menu.

5. Enter the details for your new CNAME record, such as:

  • Name (the hostname or prefix of the record, without the domain name, such as blog or shop)

  • Value (cname.mysignature.io),

  • TTL/time to live (when the server should cache information before refreshing. The default setting is 1 hour).

6. Select Save to add your new record. If you added multiple records simultaneously, select Save All Records.

Note: Most DNS changes take effect within an hour but could take up to 48 hours to update globally.

You can also follow this detailed guide from GoDaddy here.

If you've followed these steps and are still having trouble with your custom domain, please take a screenshot of your current DNS setup and the CNAME record setup and email it to our Support Team via live chat or at [email protected]. We will gladly help!
