How to add CNAME to CloudFlare?

A CNAME (or Canonical Name) allows you to point one domain or subdomain to another domain name. This means that you can update one A Record whenever you make a change, regardless of how many Host Records need to resolve to that IP address.

To add CNAME to your hosting provider, Cloudflare, please follow these steps:

1. Log in to your CloudFlare account here.

2. Open the DNS tab, then click Records.

3. Create a CNAME record pointing by clicking Add record.

4. Enter the details for your new CNAME record, such as:

  • Record type (CNAME);

  • Name (e.g., www);

  • Target (cname.mysignature.io);

  • TTL/time to live (this field controls how long each record is valid and — as a result — how long it takes for record updates to reach your end users.).

5. Set the Proxy Status to DNS Only. Toggle the CloudFlare proxy off (click on the cloud icon to make it grey) to ensure the CNAME record for the custom domain is set up correctly.

6. Click Save.

Note: DNS changes may take some time to propagate. You can use online tools to check the status of your DNS propagation.

You can follow this detailed guide from CloudFlare here.

If you've followed these steps and are still having trouble with your custom domain, please take a screenshot of your current DNS setup and the CNAME record setup and email it to our Support Team via live chat or at [email protected]. We will gladly help!
