A CNAME (or Canonical Name) allows you to point one domain or subdomain to another domain name. This means that you can update one A Record whenever you make a change, regardless of how many Host Records need to resolve to that IP address.

To add CNAME to your hosting provider, Web.com, please follow these steps:

1. Log in to your Account Manager.

2. Select Domain Name on the left side of the page.

3. Select the domain name you want to change. If you only have one domain, you will be taken directly to the Domain Details page.

4. Click Manage next to Advanced DNS Records.

5. On a new page, click +Add Record.

6. Enter the details for your new CNAME record, such as:

  • Type (CNAME);

  • Name (e.g., www);

  • Refers to (you can choose @, www, or Other Host)

  • Alias to (cname.mysignature.io);

  • TTL/time to live (this field controls how long each record is valid and — as a result — how long it takes for record updates to reach your end users. The TTL default is 7200 (2 hours)).

7. Click the Add button.

You can also follow this detailed guide from Web.com here.

If you've followed these steps and are still having trouble with your custom domain, please take a screenshot of your current DNS setup and the CNAME record setup and email it to our Support Team via live chat or at [email protected]. We will gladly help!
